Founder

Rev. Douglas E. Nelson a native of Carson, CA started working in local politics while in high school for then Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley. While attending Oregon State University on a football scholarship, Douglas was given the vision to develop the Levitical Network. 

Early in his professional career, Douglas worked in Philanthropy for; Amateur Athletic Foundation (LA84), UniHealth & WorldVision Foundations, and is a founding member of Blacks in Philanthropy. He later returned to City Hall working in the administrations of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Villaraigosa's campaign for Mayor, and Councilmember Martin Ludlow, 

Douglas is a sought after speaker and lecturer and consults in the areas of; Philanthropy, Community Development, Faith-Based Communities, and Economic Development. He has spoken at the White House and has served on many nonprofit boards and is an active member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Douglas has a Masters of Divinity (MDiv) and Masters of Theological Studies (MATS) from Faith International Seminary, Tacoma, WA. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a minor in Political Science from Oregon State University and has several certificates from USC and Harvard Divinity Schools. He believes in continued education and will work towards earning his Ph.D in the near future.

Douglas accepted his call to ministry in 1995 and was called in 2020 to serve as the Pastor of TrueLA Church in Los Angeles, CA.
